How We Handle Severe Hoarding Cleanup Safely
Because we work only with licensed and insured restoration companies, the crews on severe jobs are trained and equipped for these conditions. They wear the right protective gear for the conditions — gloves, respirators, protective suits and boots where needed. Crews clear an exit path first, then work in from there. Contaminated materials are bagged and removed separately from items being kept or donated. Once the space is cleared, we clean and disinfect hard surfaces, remove contaminated soft materials when they cannot be saved, and treat lingering odors.
Severe conditions often uncover repair needs. When we find plumbing leaks, electrical problems or structural damage, we document them with photos so the owner, family or landlord can bring in licensed trades.
